In addition to body language, is the tricky issue of gender (if one cares which gender they are trying to attract). A screen name is not a lot to go on. Neither is a pick-up line. Sorting the jerks from the gems requires real questions and sharing. Corny as it is I sometimes resort to my handy box of conversation starting questions I got a while ago from Table Topics.

There is a lot of hype on the internet about pick up lines. Mostly this information is aimed at guys who believe that saying something witty is all it takes to get a girl to date or sleep with them.
Nothing could be further from the truth. A good pick up line could be no more than a starter to a conversation with someone new. It is true that many guys need help and advice on just taking this step.
A pick up line, however witty, cannot replace the skill of being able to hold a good and enticing conversation. For many guys, what is needed, is what to say and do after the pick up line.
