OK, so a 25 year old virgin might not seem as bad as a “40 Year Old Virgin.” But let me tell you, going on a date with any fully-grown man who has never, umm… had sex, can be a pretty strange experience.

A couple years ago, I met Tom online and was immediately attracted to his charm, good looks and intelligence. By the end of our first date, I was won over by his sexy gaze and smile. The date had gone smoothly, and I could tell Tom was really into me. When we parted without so much as a hug or peck on the cheek, I immediately wondered if I did something wrong—Did I seem uninterested, did I talk too much about my ex, or worst of all—did I have food stuck in between my teeth after dinner??

I did not expect to hear from Tom after our less than romantic first date, yet he e-mailed me the following day to ask me out again. I figured I’d give him another chance, yet the next date was just as disappointing. Our third (and final) date, Tom took me to the movies. I picked seats near the back, hoping we could hold hands or kiss. Throughout the first half of the movie, Tom remained as stiff as a board, despite the fact that I was obviously leaning towards him.

I felt pretty shocked when, towards the end of the movie, Tom put his hand over and grabbed my crotch! No warm-up, nothing—he just decided to go ahead for the full grab. Furthermore, he would not even look at me while he was making his move. His eyes remained glued to the movie screen, and after the movie he acted as if nothing had happened. He said goodbye without a hug or a kiss. Weird!! OK, so by this point I had Tom figured out—he was a sexually awkward, 25 year old virgin. Why else would he be so afraid to kiss me, and so abnormal as to reach over and grab my crotch in the middle of the movie?

Needless to say, the sexual tension just fizzled for me by this point. When Tom asked me out again, I lied and told him I was getting back together with my ex. At least now I get a good laugh from telling the story, and I can also spot man-virgins a mile away!
